PS4 remote play while originally introduced on the vita is pretty good!
It is good when it’s not something like Stadia that flopped HARD. and you can learn more about that here.
You can host your little own streaming server and play from anywhere! With google stadia. eh, not so much. The “negative latency” has tons upon tons of input lag! Also, forget about playing from anywhere. 20 MB per second cannot be achieved on most mobile networks!
Enough about stadia. Let’s talk about Remote play!
Remote Play Review
First of all. even if your carrier is fast enough. PS4 remote play will only play on Wi-Fi
PS4 remote play ONLY works on wifi. Who knows? Maybe this will be fixed in PS5 remote play?
The actual latency though. Pretty low! I had very low input lag. Even when playing with the DualShock 4! It was pretty surprising.
There is one problem.
MOVING. THINGS. ON. SCREEN.
If I move in the game with the console itself. it’s pretty easy If I move in the game with remote play, however, the latency is pretty high,
It shows a bunch of gray things. and just almost acts like it’s going to disconnect on me!
I get really worried when it’s going to disconnect on me, It was very hard to connect it in the first place!
So I usually stop moving for a little bit to regain it.
After that. You have yourself a game on remote play!
Conclusion.
We have concluded that PS4 remote play is functional… sort of. It only works some of the time. and you need Wi-Fi.
And with that, My job here is done! Bye!
